Mountain View Scribe Services Group (MVSS) was founded on the principles of improving patient care, by providing our valued physicians/providers a reliable, cost effective platform without losing the focus on the customer and attention to detail.

The consideration of how to fill this important niche in the medical community was realized in 2017, and by late 2018, MVSS had started operations providing services to a single regional hospital’s emergency department.

Over the ensuing years, MVSS has gone on to bring its core principles to over 10 medical specialties, through community clinics and hospitals alike, relieving the burden of charting from providers, increasing one-on-one interaction time for patients, and allowing many young students the ability to see medicine firsthand.

MVSS currently serves both the Southern California and Central Coast regions and because of it’s considered attitude toward growth, is able to provide the high quality Scribe Services that has become a hallmark of the brand. The Scribes and administrators of MVSS look forward to a bright future, continuing to serve physicians and patients alike for many years to come.

Chasin Turnier

Director of Scribe Services

Chasin Turnier studied biology with a concentration in pre-medicine at California State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. While still a student, Chasin started working as a medical Scribe in an Emergency Department, quickly becoming a Scribe trainer, and then the Chief Scribe of the Department.

After graduating from University, Chasin studied for and took the MCAT, applied to medical schools across the country, but then decided that being a Scribe was his real passion.

Chasin helped found Mountain View Scribe Services Group LLC (MVSS) with Mountain View Emergency Physicians Medical Group in Upland. Under Chasin’s guidance, MVSS has expanded from one Emergency Department in Southern California to four Emergency Departments in Southern and Central California, as well as providing Scribe Services to physicians in over 10 specialties in clinics and hospital settings. In his spare time, Chasin likes to paint in watercolor, bake bread, and travel.

Pablo "Paul" Razo, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Razo spent his early years in the California Central Valley, he attended California State University- Fresno, obtaining a BA in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Razo attended the Stanford University School of Medicine, obtaining his M.D. degree in 1999, and then gaining acceptance to the Loma Linda University Emergency Medicine Residency program. Dr. Razo, completed his residency and obtained his board certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in 2003.

Dr. Razo has worked as an Emergency Department Physician at San Antonio Regional Hospital since 2003. He has involved himself in many aspects of management including Emergency Department Chairman and multiple hospital committees. From the time of Inception of the Scribe program, Dr. Razo strongly believed in the use of Scribes in the medical field. He has seen the great financial impact that Scribes have had on his group’s bottom line and the dramatic increase in the quality of care provided. Dr. Razo has been witness to the amount of free time that he and his partners have to spend with their patients since using Scribes in the ED. Initially, as the ED’s Scribe Liason, Dr. Razo worked ardently to further define the roles and use of Scribes, to the point that they are now an integral part of the ER team.

In the last few years, Dr. Razo and other physicians have continued to be very excited about the utility of Scribes, but were concerned about the poor of customer service offered by the Scribe companies that had now grown to be enormous and whose focus and attention was only on the bottom line. In 2018, the members of MVEPMG decided to form their own Scribe company and so MVSS was founded, with Dr. Razo as the company’s Medical Director.

Initially, MVSS was meant to only service the Emergency Department at San Antonio Regional Hospital, but this invaluable service was hard to keep a secret for very long, and now MVSS has been asked to offer that same, customer-focused service to many of our colleagues in other specialties. MVSS prides itself and continues to approach all of its clients with the same attention to detail as we did for our very first client.

Kevin Parkes, MD

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Parkes has been involved in healthcare in the Southern California area since the early 1980s. Following a 15-year career as a paramedic, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in biology at California State University, San Bernardino. He then attended medical school at the University of California, Irvine and completed residency training in emergency medicine at Loma Linda University. He has been board certified in Emergency Medicine for more than 20 years. He remains active as a member of EMS and medical committees at the county level, medical director for several fire departments, and continues to work clinical shifts in the emergency department, side-by-side with our Scribes.

Dr. Parkes has been involved with the Scribe program since its inception in the emergency department at San Antonio Regional Hospital 15 years ago. He led the development of the program and oversaw the growth of Scribe use in the ED. Over the years, he contracted with two different vendors to provide Scribe services. While the Scribes proved themselves to be extremely valuable in the emergency department, it became evident that the companies lacked the personal touch, attention to detail, and flexibility that makes a Scribe program truly great. In 2017, Mountain View Scribe Services was founded to provide the kind of service we wanted in our department. Since that time, Mountain View Scribe Services has continued to expand and is now improving patient care in multiple emergency departments, primary care offices, and specialty clinic settings across Southern California.
